SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS | Woking, New Victoria Theatre

Directed by Andrew Ryan, this year’s Snow White pantomime delivers heaps of family-friendly fun, packed with colour, energy, and some truly hilarious moments. The absolute highlights come courtesy of the Wicked Queen (Birds of a Feather star Lesley Joseph) and Muddles (comedian and impressionist Aaron James), whose hissing snake tongue-twister routine has the audience howling. Lesley Joseph occasionally corpses onstage, much to everyone’s delight, and the traditional “Twelve Days of Christmas” number is performed with brilliant chaotic charm.

Choreographed by Joanna Goodwin, the ensemble deserves huge praise: their dancing is full-out, polished, and bursting with enthusiasm. Aaron James’ Muddles is a standout, bringing natural humour and an effortless rapport with the audience that keeps the show buzzing. As Snow White, West End star Briana Craig brings a soft, gentle warmth to the role, paired with a sweet, clear singing voice. The Prince (West End star Scott Maurice), while a little wooden in his acting, does offer a strong vocal performance. Judge Rob Rinder is wonderfully camp, playful and excellently charming in his role as the magic mirror.

There are a few head-scratching moments as the show loses momentum towards the end of the first half. Most memorably, the ensemble come on stage in strange costumes designed to make them look like they are riding bears, and there is a somewhat baffling end to Act 1 involving Judge Rob Rinder and a flying motorbike. Still, these quirks only add to the panto madness, and provide the audience with spectacle.

Overall, this is a great show, brimming with fun for all ages. With jokes for both kids and adults, vibrant costumes, lively dancing, and plenty of sparkle, Snow White is a festive treat worth seeing.

Playing at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking, 5 Dec 2025 – 4 Jan 2026.
